WRITING
South

GED-level Writing: Essays, summaries, business letters. Work
with students 1:1 and/or correct papers during class to provide
students prompt feedback.
6:00-7:25 pm M

READING
South

Help a student advance his reading comprehension skills.
10:30-12:00 MWTh or F

North and South
Morning or evening, days and times negotiable.
Starting this fall, volunteers will needed to assess reading skills. Special trainings
for this position will take place in late September or October.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Minneapolis Workforce Center
One hour or more, 11:00 am-4:00 pm, M-Th.
Coach people seeking employment on the computer skills they need for completing online
application forms, sending attachments, etc. 

South
Troubleshoot in the computer lab. Help students stay on track with
writing lessons. Tutoring writing is optional.
11:35-12:30 MF    1:1 tutoring
6:00-7:25, 7:30-9:00 pm MTTh classroom assisting

INTERVIEW PRACTICE
South
11:30 am-12:30 pm, 5:00-6:00 pm. Date to be scheduled for late May or early June.
Be an interviewer, and provide each interviewee with feedback. Interview questions
and a format for feedback are provided.
This is a one-time commitment.

MATH
Tutor students in decimals & percents, and other skills at a similar level.

North

ESL/ELL
Conversation Practice
Lead small group discussions. Help students practice using their new language.
This is an excellent intercultural experience.

A variety of morning classes, 1 or 2 hours between 8:30 and 11:30, M-F .

NEW STUDENTS FIND THEIR CLASSROOMS
South The first day of new quarter, greet new students to their new experience
and help them find their rooms. Volunteer for one or more new terms. The next first-days are:
Monday, June 17   and
Tuesday, September 3.
8:00-9:00 am, 5:30-6:30 pm.


VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
South
Keep online volunteer postings up-to-date. Follow up on ideas for recruitment.
Recommend additional ways to interest people in helping our program, especially
for daytime positions. Proceed with the agreed-upon ideas. This position involves
quite bit of independent work once goals and processes are understood. The work
would initially be done at South, and then primarily off-site if desired.
